Location — Dharavi, Mumbai
The Aasha Foundation provides total enrichment support to formerly destitute girls living in an orphanage in Mumbai’s Dharavi slum. Aasha programs provide these girls, aged 7-20, with deep educational, professional, health, recreational, life skills, and social enrichment.
- Applicants should have completed at least junior year of college.
- We are looking for confident, independent, self-starters who are comfortable in new situations, and who enjoy working directly with children and young women.
- Helpful qualifications include: teaching, ESL, mentoring, and/or a general interest in health and well-being.
- We do not provide housing. There are many expat forums where volunteer can find roommate / flatshare opportunities. Average cost is between Rs. 20,000-35,000 per month ($350-$650).
